Job Description:
We are looking for a System Engineer to play a critical role in defining, designing, and integrating electro-optics, communication subsystems, and system algorithms. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams including Physics, Machine Learning, and Signal teams as well as external contractors and manufacturers to ensure the successful development of high-quality hardware and software components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and manage system requirements, focusing on integration processes for both hardware and software components. Work under tight schedules to ensure seamless collaboration across teams.
- Lead the development and design of advanced system algorithms in fields such as signal and image processing, ML, and sensor fusion, overcoming hardware limitations.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage external contractors and manufacturers to ensure high-quality and timely integration of system components.
- Develop and implement testing procedures and protocols to ensure system performance, reliability, and compliance with quality standards.
- Investigate and resolve complex hardware, firmware, and software-related challenges throughout development and manufacturing.
- Deliver cost-effective, robust solutions while maintaining high-performance standards.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of design specifications, test results, and system progress while staying up to date with advancements in relevant technologies (e.g., IMU, proximity sensors, TOF).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Software, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience in system engineering, including defining and managing requirements.
- Hands-on experience with complex system integration, validation, and verification (V&V).
- Background in algorithms development, including ML, signal processing, and sensor fusion.
- Experience working with external contractors and manufacturers.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
